No, Freon is no longer used in vehicles' cooling system. Should you take your car in for maintenance, the mechanic will use a special vacuum to remove and properly dispose of the Freon. The mechanic will then use R-134, a replacement for Freon.
No
Yes. Freon is for keeping the AC cold
What is used in vehicles is called Refrigerant, freon is just a brand name used by the DuPont corporation. .......
On all years, makes and models you will need to go to any automotive a/c repair shop and have them reclaim this for you.... (Do not just let it out in the atmosphere this is illegal)....... Depending of if your have R-12 freon or R134A freon you can buy the R134a freon at any auto parts store but you need to be licensed to buy R-12 freon.........
Freon is considered to be hazardous waste. You should call a local automotive repair shop and see if they will allow you to bring it in to them. They may charge a small disposal fee.
R-134.....
R- 134, That's the correct freon for that car.
I don't show any listings for this car but if it uses R-12 freon the fittings (service ports) will be smaller than if it used R134a freon.........
If the customer doesn't mind, yes, why not, if they are still good parts
where do you add freon to a 1998 Toyota Avalon. Where is it located ? thats actually something u have to take to a repair shop to do. make sure the repair shop services the ac for ur car. depending where you go it can be a bit costly depending on the size of each of them.
Since you are aware of what freon smells like , and you must know what it is used for , there is only one system in an auto that uses it.
Usually in front of the radiator, used to cool the freon down.
