Change the canister.Change the canister.
no
I own a 1990 GMC Sierra 1500 5.7L V8. My fuel filter is located along the frame rail under the cab on the driver's side of the truck. You might look there for the filter on your 1989 Sierra. It's an inline silver colored canister.
The transmission filter is not in the pan like most other vehicles. On a 1990 acura legend it's an inline filter kinda looks like a fuel filter but located by the radiator.
It depends on the model. Carburetted vehicles have an inline filter which is simple to change. Some EFI models have a filter in the tank.
Five quarts with filter
It uses a spin on canister filter that is screwed to the engine block, passenger side. If you look hard you will find it.
Check under the drivers door side under the vehicle for the fuel line. It has a canister type fuel filter.
you have to unhook the whole filter that looks like a canister then replace it using the new copper gaskets.
under the air filter housing on the passenger side fender.
With oil and filter change it takes 5 qts. with just oil change and not filter 4 qts.
The fuel filter is a silver canister(about 3-4 inches in length) located on the driver's side of the car towards the rear and near the fuel tank.
