It depends on who you are distancing yourself from. If you have someone in your life that is abusive (physically or mentally) to you, then yes, it would be very healthy to stay away from that person. However, if you are distancing yourself from all people in general, the answer would be no. Everyone needs to have friends. People are social by nature so to isolate yourself could be devastating. Loneliness sets in and it is not a fun place to be. Also, you need interaction with others for many different reasons but most important is the connection that you feel. That's part of what makes us feel good.
