Is gambling a communicable disease

Not in itself. Gambing is a psychological disorder. It's commonly believed that addiction belongs to a gene, and if you subscribe to that theory, it's still not communicable because genetic conditions never are. However, when gamblers are surrounded by other gamblers, their condition can become exacerbated by the camaraderie.

It isn't communicable in that, if you come in contact with a gambler, you're not going to catch the gambling disease. However, if you are tempted by gambling, and you start socializing with circles of them, chances are you're going to have a go at it eventually.
