Best Answer

In most areas of the country, regular gasoline and diesel are about the same price. Therefore a diesel truck will have similar operating expenses to one that uses regular gasoline.

What is the best performance truck exhaust system for a GMC Sierra?

It depends on if you're racing or if you're using your truck for work or hauling. It also depends on if you're using a diesel or gasoline powered engine. Magnaflow and Borla exhausts have the best overall rations.

What are the benefits of purchasing a Range Rover that runs on diesel fuel?

Some benefits to using a diesel run Range Rover instead of petrol include cheaper prices, higher gas mileage, and no sparking is required to ignite the fuel. As the diesel engine requires no spark plug in order to ignite you save on overall maintenance costs over the years.

When buying a truck what is suggested better for fuel gasoline or diesel and why pls?

Depends on what you're doing with it. If it's just going to be a personal vehicle, gasoline will be just fine (plus, you usually can't find a diesel engine option for trucks under 3/4 ton in the US). If you're going to be using it as a work truck, pulling heavy loads and such, then definitely diesel. It delivers low end torque, and is more efficient overall.

How many kilometres can one liter of gas oil or diesel fuel make when using a diesel truck?

About 8 or 9 kilometers

Which is better Ford or jeep?

When it comes to off-road, definanately the Jeep would be better. If Jeep made a truck using Ford quality parts and a Cummins diesel, now that would be a great truck.

Does off road diesel cause fuel injection problems in trucks?

Since 2007 most diesel pumped at any station in the USA or Canada is ULSD, regardless if it's on-road (clear) diesel, or off-road (dyed) diesel. The only difference is the fuel is that by using it as off road the taxes are not the same and it is cheaper. Dyed diesel will not affect your engine.

Can you use Mexican diesel in your 2008 super duty diesel truck?

Diesel sold outside of the United States may not meet the US standard for ultra-low sulfur diesel. Ultra low sulfur diesel contains 15 PPM of sulfur, whereas diesel sold in countries such as Mexico will most likely have upwards of 500 PPM (parts per million) of sulfur. Using this diesel in a 2008 Super Duty will quickly cause very severe and costly damage to the emissions components of the vehicle. The diesel particulate filter in particular will likely be clogged very quickly due to the excessive amounts of soot generated when using fuel containing high amounts of sulfur. The symptoms of using fuel containing high amounts of sulfur will also be immediately noticeable if the truck were to be taken in for repair, likely voiding the warranty on the vehicle.

I'm looking to buy a diesel truck but what is the best truck on the market right now from Dodge What are the goods and bad about owning a diesel truck VS gasoline driven?

diesel gets better gas mileage and is high in torque. and diesel engines can last up to 1,000,000 miles.but the down side about diesel is its almost 5 dollars a gallon and they are loud trucks. gas engines are quieter but still deliver a pretty good sum of horsepower they might not have as much torque but they do the job most of the time. diesel is also much more expensive to maintain gas is not. [Not true, A diesel trucks needs only oil changes, and filter changes. Whereas a gas truck will require plugs, wires, EGR sensors etc to maintain] on which truck to get i would have to say the dodge Cummins diesel this is a beautiful engine its better than fords diesel and chevy's diesel and its strong. get a truck that fits you. if you want a diesel get the dodge Cummings if you want a gas truck get the F-150 its the best selling gas truck on the road.If you tow, haul heavy loads or work your truck in any way. Then the only option is a diesel. They run circles around the gas engines. If you are using the truck solely for transportation because you prefer the truck style of vehicle, then a gas engine would be a better choice. To own a diesel you must become a diesel person as these engines are different from gas engines and require different knowledge and thinking than a gas engine does. A properly maintained diesel will be just as reliable as a gas engine, and be cheaper to maintain over the life of the engine. They can be a handful, especially in winter climates, but the benefits clearly outweigh the drawbacks. The new Duramax engines are very quiet. They tow so well that the most common complaint is that people forget they are towing and drive too fast. The Cummins in the new Dodge trucks are also excellent engines. They are only noisy if you are outside the truck. If you are a Ford person try to get an older 7.3 as they are much more reliable than the new 6 liter engnes.Diesels also have the advantage of being able to run biodiesel, making them greener than a similar gas vehicle.

More Power with a Diesel Truck?

A diesel truck is the best way to handle heavy loads and towing needs on any job site. The design of a diesel engine provides more power to any truck or large vehicle. Most of the heavy machinery on any job site is run by a diesel engine, so it makes sense that a diesel truck would work better for heavy jobs. More Efficient Engine The firing mechanism in a diesel truck is different than the firing mechanism in a regular gasoline truck. Diesel engines use compression to cause the pistons to fire instead of using a spark from a spark plug. The diesel design allows the engine to utilize every ounce of pressure that is created by the combustion chamber. That makes diesel engines far more efficient than traditional gas engines. An efficient engine is generally a more powerful one, no matter what it is put into. A diesel truck can provide far more power in any situation. Less Expensive Fuel Diesel fuel is less expensive than gasoline, which makes it an easy business choice to make. The fuel itself may be priced similarly at the gas pump, but the efficiency of a diesel engine will allow you to run longer on each gallon of fuel. With a diesel truck you will spend less time filling the fuel tank and more time doing the work you bought the truck to do. The efficiency of diesel engines has been appreciated by ships, trains, and large machinery for almost 100 years. Better Designs Recently Recent improvements in the emissions of diesel engines have made them more attractive for the casual truck owner as well. Diesel has always been notorious for the blue smoke that tends to bellow from vehicles that run on diesel. Advances in the diesel engine design have greatly reduced the amount of smoke and exhaust from standard diesel engines in all capacities. Diesel engines are cleaner than ever to operate, which makes them more environmentally friendly and better for consumers in general. With the extra power, fuel efficiency, and cleaner exhaust of today’s modern diesel engines, it will only be a matter of time before everyone wants a diesel truck.
