No doubt humans will survive, no matter what we do to the world, but scientists do predict widespread species extinctions, so from that point of view, global warming is indeed deadly.

Heatstroke does kill people occasionally, generally the very young or elderly. This can occur because a small average increase in temperatures can really mean a major, short-term temperature increase such as we saw in Moscow, when temperatures soared above 100 degrees Fahrenheit for the first time on record and remained above 100 degrees for several days. Major floods also contribute to human casualties. Droughts can cause starvation and consequent deaths. To the extent that these causes result from global warming, it can be deadly.
