If you are familiar with the Nephron, I would say that it is rather a failure in creating the correct balance of the glucose to blood ratio.
If you aren't familiar with the Nephron, it is a system in the kidneys that removes everything except for red blood cells from blood, then adds it back in the correct quantities. All of the additional material is sent to the bladder and excreted in urine.
filtration
glycosuria
Glycosuria does not occur in diabetes insipidus
glycosuria
Glycosuria does not turn urine cloudy. Diabetic people are more prone to urinary tract infections which can result in cloudy urine.
Inadequate blood flow to the kidney, as with shock, can lead to a decrease in kidney filtration and, therefore, kidney failure.
glucosuria
decreased filtration and decreased secretion combine to cause increased plasma potassium. Hyperkalemia is the most significant and life-threatening complication of renal failure
