Children learn at their own pace and they are in a bully-free location where parents can teach them to stand-up or walk away. Also, we homeschoolers are not anti social. I have a ton of friends that are in school and homeschooling. So what that we dont go to a "real" school, we learn more at our own pace with our families and no distractions. My grades have been better, i can play and hang-out with friends whenever i am not studying. At school, my teachers sat there and didn't let me ask questions or anything. When i did, she told me to ask my classmates, they ignored me. But now i have support. Homeschooling is not only healthy, but it saves money and time. It doesn't take 5 hours to learn about math, it took me 20 minutes! But, it really depends on the person teaching the student. its not the students fault, its the teachers.

How do you convince your parents to homeschool you at age 11?
If you are going to private school, you can certainly try the cost angle as homeschooling is much cheaper than any private school. If you are in public school, you can give many truthful reasons on your part why you feel homeschooling would suit you better. Whether that is bullying, not enough attention being paid to your strengths or weaknesses, too much drama distracting you, not well enough teaching, and so on, you should be honest about it.

I reckon that public schools are better. Although Home-schooling gives one to one tuition, a public school school also builds up a social background and life. I agree.

Home schooling has its pros and cons. You can give your child a better education than some public schools can offer, but you also take away a majority of the life lessons your child would learn in a regular school. For me, homeschooling was ten times better than the regular school system. I got a ten times better education than the public school system (which is a joke), anyone with half a brain can do better than the public education system. I was also protected from the harshness of the school yard which I am immensely grateful for. And all my life lessons where taught from my mother anyway, all school taught me to do was to swear and have sex with random people. My mother also made sure I never missed out on opportunities to socialize with people I liked. I got all the socializing of a regular high-schooler without all the teasing etc. of the normal school yard and a better education to boot. I think homeschooling is a very good idea and I am speaking as one who has gone through both homeschooling and normal school (til grade 10).
Where can you get help with homeschooling at high school level?
Homeschooled high school students that need further help/enrichment can enroll in tutoring. Students that get tutored whether needed or not, are proven to get better scores than those who do not get tutored.

No Homeschooling is amazing! Especially if you do FLVS, you can work at your own pace and it is so much easier than traditional school. Take it from me, a current homeschooler who was a seventh grader in August and is now a ninth grader since March, homeschooling is the best that you could ever do!!!

Public school is better than homeschooling for some families. I am a homeschooling parent. For the most part, I think homeschooling is a great thing. Most of the families I have seen are very dedicated, do the work with the kids, take their kids out and make sure they are well socialized, and have a lot of fun. However, I have seen a family or two that don't sit down with the kids to do the work or get their kids out of the house to be around friends or are involved in social situations. In these cases, it is probably better for the child to attend regular school.
