There is no limit to trick-or-treating! Youngs kids and teenagers alike do it all the time. I just went with my friends a year above me, and they seemed to be ok with it. However, sometimes teenagers & preteens go out later than young kids.

What age is too old to go trick or treating?

I don't believe any age is too old to go trick or treating. Always being tall for my age, I got told as young as 8 or 9, - "Aren't you a little too old for trick or treat?" I have a friend who is getting married on Halloween. It's the anniversary of her first date with her fiance. We are all going trick or treat after. Happy Halloween!

What nationality started trick or treating?

From History.com...New immigrants, especially the millions of Irish fleeing Ireland's potato famine of 1846, helped to popularize the celebration of Halloween nationally. Taking from Irish and English traditions, Americans began to dress up in costumes and go house to house asking for food or money, a practice that eventually became today's "trick-or-treat" tradition. Young women believed that, on Halloween, they could divine the name or appearance of their future husband by doing tricks with yarn, apple parings, or mirrors.

Is it true that trick or treating developed during the 1930s as a means to control young people's Halloween night pranks?

No. Trick or treating has been around for centuries. It was used as a way to respect the dead. The idea was that if you placed offerings for the dead and/or for demons, the spirits would leave people alone throughout the rest of the year. So as that tradition progressed, people started dressing as what they thought that the spirits looked like. The superstition about demons causing harm if not appeased was how vandals justified their actions. When pranks got really bad, with severe property damage and bodily harm, the government simply banned the holiday.

Creative Halloween Costumes: Think Out of the Box?

As Halloween approaches, talk of trick or treating fills the air while Halloween party invitations flood mailboxes. Store aisles are littered with Halloween costumes, candy, and decorations as young children beg their parents for the newest and most popular Halloween costume. Often, parents will cave buying their children the Halloween costumes that are "in" resulting in neighborhood sidewalks being filled with children in the exact same Halloween costumes. Halloween parties are often packed with vampires, celebrities, witches, and other common Halloween costume ideas. Thankfully, there are some creative Halloween costumes that can help add variety to Halloween and make any individual stand out, whether trick or treating, partying, or even working on Halloween.Creative Halloween Costume Ideas:The key to creating creative Halloween costumes is to think out of the box. Each year countless individuals go out in the same cliched Halloween costumes. Thinking out of the box isn't rocket science; just think of how many Halloween costumes are never witness or even considered! To jump start brainstorming, below are a few examples of unique and creative Halloween costumes:Killer Bee:This costume only requires fake blood, a fake weapon, and a bee costume. Fried Egg:Simply wear all white with a circle of yellow in the middle. Leftover Gum:Dress in all pink, wrinkly clothes. As a Pet:Dress up as the dog and if small enough, take him along so that the resemblance is clear! A Fish:Not a lot of fish are seen at on Halloween night. Dress up as a favorite fish! Forgotten Prom Date:This works for both males and females. Dress up in formal attire, but make it appear slightly messy and add make up to give the appearance of leftover tears. When inspired, thinking of creative Halloween costumes is easy and fun. Sometimes creative Halloween costumes can also be found in stores, however, they are most likely to be found at non mainstream stores. Have fun and Happy Halloween!
