It depends on the 10 year old. When it comes to M rated games, Halo is definitely not one of the worst. I have a T rated game that is worse, but if the kid isn't very mature, probably not. There is some blood but it's mostly oddly colored (Blue, green, purple, orange) and of course some red human blood. There is some cussing but it's not a constant stream of profanity. I would say that on average it would be ok for a 12+ year old person. If someone is mature enough to handle it though, then it could be ok for a 10 year old.
