It really depends on whether or not you like those types of games or not. If you were an avid player of halo 1 through 3, Halo wars has good insight of the start of the war and is quite an enjoyable game if you've played things like Age of Empires and Command and Conquer and liked them.
In my opinion, Halo wars is amazing, and yes, Halo Wars is worth buying,but only if you want to buy it not if you just like the hole halo series, remember! halo wars is a strategy game not another first person shooter like the other halos.

Getting halo wars limited edition is more worth it because of the bonus features (flaming warthog etc) but halo wars normal is also still worth it as you get the full game which is what you want however i bought halo wars normal but i couldn't get the halo three map pack so bassicly no special features on the normal version
