The word "HI" is used more often in conversation. "HELLO" is generally used when they answer the telephone or open the door. "HI" is definitely used more than hello in the USA.
Hello is more formal and Hi is more casual and laidback
"Hello" sounds a bit more formal than "hi", but it kind of depends on how you say it. Both "hello" and "hi" can be made more friendly with a smile and a look on your face that shows you are genuinely glad to greet the person.
In face to face conversation I believe "Hi" would be used more often. But if you are calling or answering the telephone "Hello" is the normal greeting.
"Hi" is a more casual and informal greeting compared to "hello." It is commonly used in friendly or casual interactions, while "hello" can be considered slightly more formal.
Great Britain is an English-speaking country. So the answer is "hello."
"Hello" is more formal.
Hi as in Hello is "Talofa" or more informally "Malo"
Malo is hi (informal), Talofa is hello (more formal).
You say "Sawbona!" if you are saying hello or hi to one person. But you say "Sanibona!" if it is being said to more than one person.
is more formal. hi is more like an hey kind of saying. they are both fine though.
hi lol
Normally, when someone answers the phone with 'Hello', people can understand them and hear them more clearly, mainly because 'Hello' has two syllables, and 'Hi' has only one. If you were to answer the phone with 'Hi' instead, people might miss what you are saying and ask you to repeat it, if you say 'Hello', it's no bother at all. Also, if you are answering with 'Hi', it is informal, and you say 'Hello' as a question when picking up the phone, not a greeting as you would say when you see someone you know, because a normal phone conversation will go something like this... "Hello?" "Hi, it's ----" "Oh, Hi ----!" And you would say something more infomal if it's a friend or a relative or someone you know well.
