- I think it depends on the person and the situation. But often times if there isn't complete openness in the relationship, the problem may be a deeper issue. Such as lack of trust, communication, or maybe even insecurity on your part and if any of these are the problem than this is probably more serious than holding back emotions. Honestly I would encourage you tell your partner what's going on inside you and make the bridge of communication stronger unless you perceive it won't go over well, which I seriously doubt if you are in a relationship with this person. They most likely want to know your inner struggle right now.

well it depends on the situation if you have known this person for a long time and they just started dating some one a week ago and you have strong feelings for them and feel like you can't bare holding in your feelings for them then tell them how you feel. But if this person in in a long committed relationship i wouldn't say anything because it might harm not only your relationship with this person but, the person's relationship with there spouse.
