The main reason Jennette McCurdy wrote the song Homeless Heart was for her friend, Cody Waters. Cody died form brain cancer, and Jennette wanted to dedicate this song to Cody. Cody was born in 1999 and died in 2009. Cody died at the age of 9. R.I.P Cody Waters.
