IMVU is no more dangerous than any other site on the net. yes there are predators. Yes they are EVERYWHERE and NOT just on IMVU. IMVU in itself is NOT dangerous. it's the parents who don't watch what they children DO on it that are.

NO child should be on the web without parent or guardian overseeing what they do, or at least checking their child's profile to see that they haven't inadvertently given any personal information out, and talking to much older people in an inappropriate manner.

IMVU does fail in the fact that under 13 are getting on the site, and getting access to adult rated material. BUT this happens with ALL websites on the net. there is NO way to stop underage users from accessing inappropriate material at all. EXCEPT by the parental control. Expecting websites to protect children who's parent's are not doing their jobs, is just a waste of time and energy.

Adults should also take responsibility for their own actions as well. like knowing when a scammer is getting to them. knowing to not give out personal information/account information, Not chatting up underage users in a wrong manner, etc.

It is safe. But i recommend it for teenagers ONLY.It also depends on the people you talk to.Keep a eye on who and what your daughter or son is doing on there.

I agree with above. IMVU is a virtual sex game that only Teens or people above the ages of 15 should go on. If you are under aged for IMVU I suggest that you play safer sites like Pico.Ameba.net, Gaiaonline.com, Ourworld.com, Clubpenguin.com, Fantage.com, or I would even suggest MapleStory

As long as you limit his time that he plays and are aware of what he is doing, he should be fine. Be sure to talk to your teen as well, that way you can be sure he hasn't become delusional.
