Yes, the indirect injection is more fuel efficient because it provides stability to the engine.
Direct injection injects the fuel charge directly into the combustion chamber, (more efficient). Indirect injection injects the fuel charge into the intake port behind the intake valve, or in the case of Throttle Body injection, into the center of the intake manifold for distribution to the cylinders. Indirect injection was much cheaper to produce, but resulted in higher emissions and reduced power relative to direct injection.Source(s):ASE Master Technician, 46 years experience.
DI means Direct Injection. Diesel engine depending on combustion categorised in Direct injection or InDirect injection Engine. Direct Injection engine combustion takes place directly above the piston. But indirect injection combustion initially takes place pre-combustion chamber and after transfered to above piston.DI engine more fuel efficient, easily start in cold condition, But Noise more.
diesel only comes in fuel injection, the fuel needs high pressure to ignite, and cannot only be sucked in like with a carburator on a petrol engine
Fuel injection provides a smoother, more controllable propulsion and generally is much more efficient and faster. I have had two carbed bikes and they are a pain for maintenance. Get the fuel injected and you'll be happy. Though it is relatively new for motorcycles, it is becoming more commonplace. (Fall 09).
Direct is designed to low emissions and should allow for higher performance due to better atomization and a more accurate air/fuel mixture.
In a conventional internal combustion engine there are two typical methods for delivering fuel to the combustion process: 1. carburation 2. fuel injection. Current fuel injection systems are computer controlled, taking into consideration engine temperature, air pressure, air volume, vehicle speed, throttle position, engine RPM and anything else that might be considered even slightly significant. Carburated systems only considered engine vacuum and throttle position, with an indirect method for determining when the engine was first being started. Fuel injection actually monitors what's going on in the engine, delivering the proper amount of fuel to provide maximum power for the minimum amount of fuel. Fuel injection is far more efficient and produces far fewer unwanted emissions.

A car has to be fuel efficient. It means it has to completely burn the fuel.
Assuming that you are asking about fuel injection, fuel injection is an alternative to using a carburetor to get the fuel to the cylinders. There are several different types of fuel injection. Probably the three most common are throttle body fuel injection, port fuel injection and direct fuel injection. Throttle body fuel injection uses something that looks a good deal like a carburetor but has one, two or more electrical operated solenoid valves that spray a metered amount of fuel into the incoming combustion air. Port fuel injection is similar but the fuel is injected into the intake manifold port of each cylinder. Port fuel injection can provide improvements in emissions, fuel economy and performance if done correctly. Both throttle body and port fuel injection are low pressure systems. Direct fuel injection injects the fuel directly into the combustion chamber and is a high pressure system. Direct fuel injection can provide even more improvement in emissions, fuel mileage and performance and is becoming more and more common in passenger vehicles. As a further note, most, if not all, compression combustion (like a diesel engine) engines use high pressure direct fuel injection.
Lighter weight, more aerodynamic, and more fuel efficient engines, transmissions, and tires.
Indirect flights would use up more fuel because they have more take off and landings than would a direct flight.
There hasn't really been a brand of semi trucks recognized as the most fuel efficient. Since they run on diesel a more efficient fuel, semi trucks already are more fuel efficient than cars in terms of size and power.
