because they are not exposed to a rooster ok a chicken laying an egg is kinda like a girl having her period, a girl always has her period until she gets pregnant then it's done till she gives birth. a chicken cant tecnically cant get pregnant so it always gets its period did that help? I believe this person wants to know WHY the hen would lay the egg if it were NOT fertilized. This is due to the fact that her eggs are there fertilized or not they must get laid. God made them to do that. Could be a way for other predators to find food.
