if you want your horse to get sick in other words no no no!
It's possible for a cat to get fleas and ticks from grass just like it's possible for US to get fleas and ticks from grass
Ticks can typically be found in grassy and wooded areas, as well as in shrubs and leaf litter. They are commonly found in areas with tall grass, bushes, and trees where they can easily latch onto passing animals or humans.
ticks
I think ticks travel in groups
Well typically mowing the paster will discourage ticks because they preffer to hang onto long stalks of grass. Some people also do a controlled burn on their pastures but you must alway becareful when doing that and follow the city/county regulations on burning. Takes a little prep work and training, but Guinea Fowl are tick eating machines. Just a couple per acre will have you pest free in no time.
Yes it certainly will. Use an insecticide specifically for ticks.
they get them from other animals or whatever else they come in contact or close contact with. ticks i believe are like fleas and can jump great distances to get to the dog so just from being outside or around other animals, they can get them.Dogs get ticks from many places the most common that I know/heard of areforestscamp sitesgrassother tick infested dogs/animals that are pets& wild animalsplaces like:grassy and weedy area's in the spring and summer ONLY have many tics
you get bicarbonate soda and you sprinkle it on the grass
Horses do get ticks, they can just be hard to spot. The most common areas are under the jaw line, inside the ears, on the stomach and under the tail head.
Pretty much any one walking through infested grass can pick up ticks. Cats, dogs, humans, rabbits etc etc.
Ticks engage in "questing" where they hold on to leaves or grass with their back legs and extend their front legs into the air. They grab onto the first animal/human/dog that walks by.
It could be hooves, horse shoes, hair, ticks, or the horse itself.
