Well that's the joy of getting ear cartilage pierced with a piercing gun, they studs are not designed nor intended to be used in the cartilage, however there is always some moron willing to do what they are not supposed to do with a piercing gun. The lumps on the backs of your ears are called cauliflower ear" this occurs when the skin or dermal layer is torn away from the cartilage and not reattached to the cartilage, the void fills with fluid which crystallizes and forms the lumps you now have. Sorry to break it to you.
