It should be fine. Hamsters usually don't bite.
it helps the hamster to lose a little weight
It's not a good idea, but if you took regular 20-25mins breaks, every time checking on the hamster. Also, you could bring a cage, put the box with the hamster in the cage, the box open, and just leave it, making sure the cage is secure. Even with this idea, the breaks would still be a good idea.
(just to say that you need to hold your hamster LOADS if you do travel so it will stay tame, it is a good idea to get a hamster sitter when on holiday to feed your hamster) hope i helped ox
ask the pet shop or person you bought it from and they should be able to help you, that's what i did when i bought mine i just asked if it was male or female and she checked it:)
Immediately.
Is it that you just bought it? If yes, it might be shocked when it first meet you.
Im not a vet or a scientist, i just own my own hamster. I have heard my hamster playing in its cage, and suddenly make a loud SQUEAK. I havent noticed anything wrong with her when she does that, it just seems that she squeaks less when i take her out more. It might be a good idea to check your hamster over every once in a while, because a squeak may be a sign that your hamster hurt itself. These cuts can get infected, and become an abcess.
You have to prove you are worthy of keeping the hamster safe. You have to be responsible and persuasive but not pushy. Do you take good care of your cats? i assume so... just ask them "why do you think I couldn't handle a hamster when i can handle 2 cats that are like 10 times the size of one!" I just got a hamster just about a year ago. My parents were definitely not for the whole idea. We had a dog for about a week when i was younger. then we realized we couldn't take care of it because we were never home. so we gave her to one of our friends. And we took good care of her for the couple of days that we had her. So that really helped that I took good care of her. Good luck!
Depends on if it was just birthed or if u just bought it from the store. if u just bought it from the store u can hold it when ever u want. but be carefull with them mine bit me because it got scared.
It does affect them but it won't hurt them. They just have to get used to their new home just like when you first bought them a cage.
It would be a good Idea to get one just in case. I believe that in some countries (e.g. the UK) there is routine inoculation provided for tetanus.
No. Guinea pigs can not run in a hamster wheel or ball. They will most likely just sit there confused. Unlike hamsters, Guinea's back bone aren't all that flexible, so it shouldn't be put under the pressure to bend, therefore it would be a good idea not to let them in a Hamster ball or a hamster wheel, because it could cause spine problems. But it is perfectly fine for a hamster. Your welcome!
