No. It is never acceptable to disobey the orders of the court. You must ask the court that sentenced you to the service if that is a good enough reason. The judge will make the decision, and if he/she agrees could decide on some alternate ending.

If you are seriously asking this question, maybe you shouldn't be filling out anything that requires you to answer it. if you were actually DOING community service, you'd have enough heart (and experience) to answer this one on your own.

It should be acceptable. I only say should because some Troops may interpret the rules a little differently. When in doubt ask one of your youth or adult leaders, preferably the one you will be asking to sign you off. As a Youth Protection issue, some Troops may require SM approval before doing community service. If the tutoring was for another Scout on Scout advancement that would probably not be considered community service (it is serving Scouts). Finally, keep in mind that you should be doing a "good turn daily" which means you should be doing much more community service than you will ever get signed off on.
