My friend is in jail for different reasons. I now found a picture of him on a website, but is it really legal to put prison inmate photos on the web?
An inmate lookup provides the community, where a prison is located, the opportunity to have access to information regarding in custody inmates. This information is considered public information.
Once he is released the prison system will not give his address to the public any more than your employer would give your address to a member of the public. If you are related to the ex-rpisoner you should try to locate him through family contacts.
