"Dating" in the modern world, is the current version of courtship. In other words, one should only be "dating" if one is thinking of marriage. In that light, it is probably not the best idea to date a Catholic if you are not Catholic, unless you are seriously entertaining the notion of converting. Mixed marriages usually are not for the best.
