No a puppy has to have had all its shots before you can bathe it which will be around 16 weeks old.

Clarification:

A puppy does not have to have all of it's shots before bathing it, but a puppy's mother usually keeps it clean (by licking them) until it is weaned, around 5 - 6 weeks old, so there really should be no need to bathe it. But if you do need to bathe it you can, just be sure to use shampoo that is made for puppies and do NOT use human shampoo. There are numerous shampoos available for puppies, and they are not expensive, so you can easily find one at stores such as Wal Mart, as well as many grocery stores.

To bathe the puppy, you can do it at the kitchen sink, just be sure to put a towel in the bottom to keep the puppy from slipping and prevent injury. You could also place a plastic basin in the sink instead. Before you begin though, have a towel at hand, and never leave the puppy unattended while in the sink or basin.

Wet the puppy with warm water, apply shampoo and lather well, then rinse with warm water, being careful not to get shampoo or water in it's eyes. Be sure to rinse thoroughly, or the residual shampoo can cause skin irritation to the puppy. Then dry the puppy with a soft towel.

For many puppies, their first bathing experiences can affect how they react to being bathed in the future, so be sure to make it as comfortable and safe for the puppy as possible.

Certainly! As with all babies, use a special puppy shampoo and wash her in the sink where you can get to her. Keep the water out of her eyes, use lukewarm water, and have a warm bath towel handy to dry her off.

Do not use any medications on her just yet. A flea soap is not designed for delicate skin, and dish soap will make her itch. If you feel the need to treat fleas, consult your veterinarian for appropriate treatments. Do not use human shampoo.

Yes, it can, although it will need supervision and will most likely need help to bate itself for the first time.

Which soap or shampoo is good for 1 month old golden retriever?

1 month old is a 4-week old puppy ... much too young for a bath, so the answer is NO soap or shampoo. At 4 weeks old a puppy should still be with its mother, and its mother will keep it clean.

Can you give a 10 week year old puppy a bath?

you can give a 10 week old puppy a bath BUT you have to lift their head above the water And also use a special mild puppy soap, and make sure the puppy is dried and kept warm after the bath. Human hair driers are a bad idea, they can be too hot for a dog.
