I would not recommend it. I have read about it being bad for your laptop to be on sleep mode all of the time, especially if you carry it with you while it is on sleep mode. Also, your laptop will get slower after a while.
I think the traveling with your laptop in sleep mode is less of a problem if you have a Solid State Drive (SSD). Never the less, I would recommend at least once a week turning your computer off entirely for a few hours.
Yes; A. it can overheat
B. it wastes the battery, which means you have to charge it more, which takes the battery life away, which then means it must always be plugged in
simple answer .... yes but it might get hot
alot of people think this makes your battery life shorter .... not true
There are a number of plastic laptop cases that essentially just snap onto your laptop and remain attached to it all the time. Speck products makes a good one. Don't buy one from a mainstream store, go online where you will get a good deal.
If it's only going to be a few minutes then no problem. If it's going to be 30 minutes or so then _I_ wouldn't. It still creates a bit of heat and when you have it in a bag/case you are actually insulating it and it will store all that heat. Another reason is some times in standby or sleep mode some computers or HD's won't have the HD "arm" locked away into a neutral position where it won't damage the HD platters them selves when bounced around. You should never move a Laptop around while it's on, asleep or on standby for this reason. Moving it around on your lap is one thing but traveling in a bag or case is another thing.
A Gateway laptop docking station allows an external keyboard and mouse, speakers and other hardware to be added to the laptop. The laptop is plugged into the docking station and then all the other peripherals are plugged in too. Full details can be found on the Gateway website.
i finnally freackin found it, real mode(16 bit) allows access to all hardware resources, where protected mode(32 bit) controls how the application accesses the hardware. In real-mode, an application has complete access to all hardware resources. This "open door" policy can create problems when applications make conflicting commands to the hardware. In protected mode and long mode, the OS controls how an application can access hardware.page 53 in CompTIA A+ Guide to Managing & Maintaining Your PC, Sixth Edition by Jean Andrews
A military laptop is a laptop built to rugged standards to withstand abuse and weather extremes that may be experienced by military personnel. www.comarkcorp.com, dell.com and www.kingoflaptops.com all have military laptops for sale.
You get no work done.
I am not sure exactly what you mean by this question, but I thing you mean, "When you put your laptop into sleep mode does it shut down?" the answer to the question I just stated would be: When you put your laptop into sleep mode, it does not shut down, it just turns the screen blank to save battery power. To exit out of sleep mode you can either move around your mouse, or press any button on your keyboard. Once you do this, all the windows that you had up when you turned your computer to sleep, should still be on your screen. Hope this helped!
when the system is on sleep, it pauses the download. because the sleep mode is for saving resources like power. so all the stuff goes to suspend mode. the system must be in running mode for downloading. For laptop you can change the setting which says that do not put laptop on sleep when lid is closed.
That's a good question , first of all there's pro's and cons about that sometimes when you get your computer to go on sleep mode it makes your burning time slower and sometimes wreck your computer system , so i would suggest to just leave it how it is =D
All batteries will drain a small amount, even if they are not being used. However, a substantial battery drain would be due to a problem with the battery or laptop. Make sure that the laptop is indeed off, though. With Vista, clicking the power button in the start menu will not shut down the laptop, but will instead put it into sleep mode. This continues to drain the battery. Some of the lights on the computer will still be lit when the laptop is in sleep mode, while no lights will be on if the laptop is turned off.
It takes less time to resume computer from sleep mode then to boot it up. When you senf our computer in the sleep mode you can keep your programs open, and after you resume the system you have all your programs already running.
Hibernate - is the correct answerhibernate is safe mode for laptop then shutting it down
all laptops get hot on the bottom.i cant think any particular reason why it wood do it exsesivly when asllep, but while in on mode then it wood still be hot
Sleep mode is an energy-saving mode of operation in which all unnecessary components are terminated. Many battery-operated devices, such as notebook computers, support a sleep mode. When a notebook computer goes into sleep mode, it shuts down the display screen and disk drive. Once awakened, the computer returns to its former operating status.
You know that your computer is in sleep mode when the screen is dark and all you see is your screen saver. There will not be any sounds coming from the computer either.
You may have drivers (programs that tell your hardware how to run) that are faulty, in SAFE MODE all drivers are not loaded.
Imagine that you could have a super portable laptop computer with you at all times that didn't require any start up time for use. With a tablet computer, you are getting exactly that. The major benefit of having a tablet computer is its mobility. They are designed to run at a capacity that rivals many laptop computers, but with a sleep mode that is comparable to your phone. This means that you can have the benefits of WiFi,a large screen, useful applications, and all the other benefits of a laptop computer, but with the extreme portability and mobility of a phone.
