It depends on what you consider better. Animals don't pollute or damage the Earth like humans do. They don't get abortions, drop bombs, or go on killing sprees.
Likewise, space aliens do not leave such an impact on the world either. Maybe they don't exist, or if they do, they know to keep a low footprint. If they do indeed exist, they may have superior technology to ours, or, then again, it could be about the same as ours, more or less.
