Hermit crabs as you might know are very social animals, in the wild they travel in "packs" with hundreds to them. They have very bad eyesight and use chirping noises to communicate with each other. When alone they might think that they are lost and become depressed. This can cause them to stop eating and die. Because hermit crabs are so cheap, you need at least 2-3 as I do.

∙ 12y agoWell make sure your tank is big enough, a 10 gallon for 2, 20 for 4, and so fourth. Make sure your hermit crabs are the same times. At tiems they will eta or fight each other witch is very very rare.

∙ 11y agoYes you can have as much as you want, as long as you have the right size of tank and you know how to control them. A lot of hermit crabs may also result in some fighting but other than that there is not much to worry about, though it is pretty hard looking after even 10 hermit crabs at once.
