It's not that one is better than the other, it's just that they are different. The question might be, which one is better for you. You have to acquire a vision; a clearly articulated picture of the future you intend to create for yourself. The vision should be based on passion, a love for what you want to do, and the benefit it brings others as well as yourself. The vision must be very specific. Once you acquire that vision, your path will become clear, and you will have to problem deciding on which specialty to focus on.

You can always enhance your education by supplementing it with other coursework. However, the masters degree can be taxing and very time consuming. You would do better to focus on one thing at a time (basically the masters). That being said, most every school I know of does not offer the opportunity of taking a minor with the masters level work. Once again because of the intensity of most masters level work. You can always enhance your education by supplementing it with other coursework. Special Education is 'special' because each and every person apart of a Special Education program was born with unique and different qualities. Though, they are in some way unable to complete tasks that someone without a disability could easily complete, the are special programs for these people. Each and every person born with some disability or impairment has special criteria that allow them extra time with various activities. I feel as though humans born with and placed in Special Education categories deserve the most care and special attention. They're the people in the world who will give you a lasting friendship. They're special inside and out, no matter what the disability.
