It is much less expensive to paint yourself if you have the proper equipment and the time to do the painting. If you have to buy all of the equipment required it may be less expensive to hire a contractor. If your painting skills are not good the results of a contractor will probably be much better.

Should I hire a roofing contractor to look after my roof, or can I do the job myself?

There are pros and cons to both hiring a contractor and doing the job yourself. On one hand, hiring a contractor can be more expensive, but it can also save you time and effort, and you can be confident that the job will be done correctly. On the other hand, doing the job yourself can be more cost-effective, and it can be a rewarding experience to be able to say that you did the work yourself. Ultimately, the decision of whether to hire a contractor or do the job yourself will depend on your skills, budget, and the specific needs of your roof. If you are not confident in your ability to complete the job safely and effectively, or if the work required is beyond your capabilities, it may be best to hire a contractor. However, if you are handy and have experience with home repairs, you may be able to tackle the job yourself.
