To flush Dex-Cool from your cooling system, start by draining the coolant using the drain valve located at the bottom of the radiator. Next, fill the system with water and run the engine until it reaches operating temperature, allowing the water to circulate. Afterward, drain the water and repeat this process a couple of times to ensure all Dex-Cool is removed. Finally, refill the system with the appropriate coolant mixture, ensuring it’s compatible with your vehicle.
To flush the radiator on your 2005 Mazda 6, start by allowing the engine to cool completely. Remove the radiator cap and drain the old coolant by opening the drain valve at the bottom of the radiator. Once drained, close the valve and fill the radiator with a mixture of water and coolant flush solution. Run the engine until it reaches operating temperature, then turn it off, let it cool, and drain again to remove any contaminants before refilling with the proper coolant mixture.

About every 50,000 miles put a bottle of Prestone super flush in the radiator. Let the engine warm up, then back flush the system with a Prestone flush and fill kit. After flushing the system put in a new thermostat. Fill the system up with Prestone antifreeze. This is the ony maintenance you need to do to keep your car cool.
