There are reports that link eating expired pancake, brownie and other flour based packages to a mold that has caused shock, Asthma...serious medical emergencies. A good rule is "when in doubt, throw it out" and I do not know who coined that phrase.

Eating flour that is past its expiration date is not necessarily dangerous, but its quality may have deteriorated in terms of taste, texture, and nutritional value. It is always best to check for any signs of spoilage, such as a rancid smell or the presence of pests, before consuming outdated flour.
