Well dried oak is one of the BEST firewoods. It has high heat values, low creosote production, splits well, long lasting coals. Ash and Hickory are better, but not by much. GREAT firewood.

Green is not a species of wood- it just means recently cut wood that still contains much of the moisture and sap of the living tree. When cured (means dried) it will burn much better. Cured Oak is among the best firewood for heat.

Avocado wood (and any natural wood) will burn. Heat value is similar to elm. More heat value than pine, less than oak.
