If your school is "middle school" 6th grade or older, I would recommend it. It would attract animals and maybe help the teachers by teaching some students about animal life.
Though, if your school is starting with Kindergarten "Elementary School" I would NOT recommend it.. because there is a chance a Kindergartener would try to go up to the animal.
Students can help ensure that wildlife has a good life by making habitats for them. They can create wooden shelters for animals outdoors, and give them some food to eat.

Yes if it is in good health and if local laws allow you can release it in the same place you took it from. If it was in captivity longer it should be taken to a wildlife rehabilitation center to make sure it is healthy, will not spread any diseases from feeder fish etc.
A school song is a good way to promote the ethos of the school. It can also create a sense of community and belonging amongst the students, staff and parents.
When installing a 4x4 post bird feeder, make sure to dig a hole at least 2 feet deep for stability. Use concrete to secure the post in the ground and ensure it is level. Consider adding a predator guard to protect the feeder from animals. Regularly check and maintain the feeder to keep it in good condition.
