The only reason this would be unhealthy would be if the teenager is exhibiting signs of an adjustment disorder like hanging around children much younger than them. The Magic School Bus show is meant for the younger crowd, but is very interesting. If you are concerned about your child, try suggesting other programming that deals with science, or encourage the child to read about the topics discussed in the show. If this child is around younger children that are not siblings, this could turn into a dangerous situation and I'd recommend counseling to find out why the teen is reluctant to move forward with life. I'm not a mental health expert but I would say that it's perfectly fine for a teenager to be into the Magic School Bus. In my opinion saying that a teenager should like certain things or dislike others is stereotyping. Reading works of fiction or fantasy is probably a very healthy psychological escape from the rigors and stress of everyday life. Teenagers certainly find less healthy ways of coping with these than reading. Also, there are probably a good number of adults that are into the Magic School Bus, Harry Potter, The Lord of the Rings, or any number of other works that are not exactly "adult". So don't be too hard on yourself. Besides, nothing says that you need to tell everyone in the world what you do on your own time while at leisure, nor should you worry excessively about what other people think or feel the need to hide. Teenagers are so desperate to be "cool" that they often pass up or become ashamed many normal, fulfilling activities, such as playing with siblings or hanging out with their family. Be true to yourself, and don't mind the pressures of the "teen world" too much.
