There is proof that not eating breakfast as a child dramatically increases your chance of heart attacks/disease in your later life. Studies show that children who eat breakfast perform better on cognitive tests and even in school so it is possible that it works in a similar way to adults.

Skipping breakfast is a common strategy for people who are trying to lose weight but since your body needs refueling several times a day you will overeat at other meals, such as lunch, wich leads to weight gain.

But there is so many variations that I don't think you can say for sure whether breakfast is healthy, but you can very safely asume it is. I say this because it is not just if you eat breakfast, but what you have for breakfast.
