Yes, we can learn from their courage and sacrifice. From them we learn the meaning of valor and its importance to mankind; The importance of helping others that cannot help themselves, to defend those who cannot defend themselves, to protect those who cannot protect themselves against a cruel and dominating force. They did what they did, so that we still have the ability and/or opportunity to do what we do within a free nation. That should be of great importance to us. In addition, it should not be just particular to World War I, but for all conflicts were American and allied forces have secured our future through their heroics.
