There are a lot of gray areas here. Let's say you have a picture of a model dressed in Akademiks clothes in the middle of a New York City street. If the ad is for Akademiks stuff, it's fine. More than that, one would expect the model in an Akademiks ad to wear Akademiks. If the ad's for a product that directly competes with Akademiks, it's not fine. If you built an ad for Rocawear and put a model dressed in Akademiks in it, both Rocawear and Akademiks would be mad at you. If you want to advertise New York tourism, or something people associate with New York, you could probably do it but you should ask the Akademiks company first.
