Assuming there are no other calories in the wine but the alcohol, one finds that: 5 oz. wine contains 12% alcohol = 0.60 oz. alcohol; 0.60 oz. alcohol contains 0.60 X 28.5 (1 oz. = 28.5 grams) = 17.1 grams alcohol.; 17.1 grans alcohol contains 17.1 X 7 calories (per gram of alcohol) = 119.7 Calories per 5 oz. srving at the very minimum!!
No, not necessarily. The primary (though not only) factor in determining the calorie content of wine is the alcohol content. Higher alcohol wines are in most cases higher calorie wines.

Wine is around 12% abv and a Martini, which is pretty much straight gin, is 40% abv. Your typical serving size for wine is 5oz and for a martini is 3oz. So the amount of alcohol in a glass of wine is about .6oz and in a martini is 1.2oz.
Wine has 120-125 calories and 3.50 grams of carbs; beer has 146 calories and 13.13 grams of carbs per drink. However, distilled spirits (gin, vodka, rum, etc.) have only 97 calories and 0.00 grams of carbs.
A dry martini is a cocktail made with gin and dry vermouth. Martini Dry is a brand of dry vermouth, which is an ingredient in a dry martini. Martini Dry is also served on its own, often poured over ice cubes and garnished with a lemon twist or lemon wedge. Americans ordering martinis in Europe are often surprised when they get a glass of Martini Dry instead of a dry martini cocktail.

A shot of tequila and a glass of wine contain the same quantity of absolute alcohol, which is .06 oz. The same is true for a beer.
