Conservation of forests is important for many reasons, not least of which is the preservation of wildlife and flora that exist in such a habitat. The organisms which thrive in forests are important components in a wider ecosystem, part of the delicate balance that provides a liveable planet.

An abundance of trees is also extremely important to air quality, as the world's forests essentially act as the world's lungs, helping to provide breathable air for organisms that require oxygen (like you), helping to maintain the CO2/O2 balance.
