In some cases depends on where you got it pierced and how professional the piercer was but in this case i think its a sign of infection wither take it out visit your local pharmassist or go to your piercer to treat it
If the piercing is fresh, then there is more chance it can tear by being knocked. It is normal if it has been knocked (which it might've been while you were sleeping), but it shouldn't tear by itself. Otherwise it might be migrating, which it can also do if there is a tear which doesn't heal quick enough. If it seems like it's migrating, you might want to take it out and let it heal completely and then perhaps rethink getting it peirced again.
