When I had mine done, I couldn't taste anything at all. My tongue swelled up for 2 weeks and all I could stand to eat was mashed potatoes. Make sure you keep it clean, listerine works really well, and the metalic taste should go away. If after say, another week, it doesn't go away, take the stud out and see a doctor. ANSWER I still could taste everything i ate and never got that metal taste in my mouth!
It means there is a small metal stud or ring going through your toungue.

Stick with the metal bar you were pierced with for the first couple of months.
Manganese is a metal, and is a solid at anything near room temperature.
Never worry, it's totally normal. Your ears are somewhat adapting to you piercing since the 'metal' or the earring is a foreign bypasser. If the swelling lasts more that a week, that's weird. (:
Yes. If you listen to people who have had this done you will notice they lisp with some words and actually have problems with some sounds. The piercing will also damage your teeth when the metal hits the tooth.
It hurts.
since the metal in the piercing is filled with iron the iron will irritate the tongue therefore causing the tongue to swell and turn yellow
