No, it's not normal. If your periods were irregular before using the Nuva Ring, it is to be expected that they will return to their irregular habit.
Anyone who's been three months without a period and is not using hormonal Birth Control should see her health care provider for an exam.

∙ 12y agoWhen you take out your last Nuva Ring, you'll probably get your typical withdrawal bleeding. After that, your next period usually comes in 4-6 weeks, if your periods were regular before using Nuva Ring. If you were irregular before using the ring, you are likely to return to your irregular habit after you stop.

∙ 12y agoActually, yes. The way it is for my period while on NuvaRing is after three days of it being out, my period starts. It's like clockwork. But I recall the first time I used Nuvaring my period was about a week and a half late. I was freaking out too because I thought I was pregnant. But luckily, I got my period.

∙ 12y agoLike any hormonal birth control method, Nuva Ring is likely to cause lighter flow and shorter periods than you had before you started on it.
Sometimes, on Nuva Ring, the flow gets so light that you don't notice anything at all. That is normal, and there's no need for concern if you used the ring correctly last month. But since it's the very first month, you certainly should take a pregnancy test to double-check.
Whatever bleeding you have, just keep using the ring on the schedule on your calendar, regardless of bleeding.

∙ 18y agoNO. If you have been having sex you may be pregnant. The Nuvaring is designed to be used for 3 weeks on and one week off. Using it for just a week will not have protected you.

When you stop using the Nuva Ring, the timing of your cycle may change. You may or may not keep getting your period at the same time of the month.

Maybe, but it could also cause irregular bleeding and spotting. If not having a period on certain day was important to me, I'd plan for that a month in advance, as doing something at the last minute can backfire.

You will probably ovulate 3-5 weeks after removing the ring and get your next period 5-7 weeks later. You may have spotting during those first few weeks off the ring. You're still in the middle of this process.

Using a condom is very good. This will give you 100% protection against pregnancy when used in conjunction with birth control. However if you had intercourse without using a condom during the first month of starting birth control then there is a risk of pregnancy. Because your period hasn't arrived yet I would recommend you perform a pregnancy test.
