Rabbits eat newspaper and other paper products for two reasons: entertainment, and diet (fibre content). It's okay for rabbits to eat newspaper, but this should not be their only source of fun or fibre!

Rabbits need a diet of lots and lots of hay -- this should be the primary fibre source in a rabbit's diet. If the rabbit isn't eating hay, it may eat too much newspaper and get sick! On the other hand, if a rabbit is eating lots of hay, it won't eat too much newspaper and you don't have to worry.

Rabbits also need toys and games to play and plenty of exercise, or else they'll become depressed, ill, or destructive. Newspaper is fine as one toy among many, but it's not suitable as the only toy! (No toy is suitable as the only one. Rabbits enjoy diversity, just like humans.)

My bunny eats dry cat food?

It is not recommended to feed dry cat food to bunnies as it does not provide the necessary nutrients for their health. Bunnies require a diet high in fiber, such as hay, fresh vegetables, and limited pellets specifically formulated for rabbits. Introducing improper food can lead to health issues for your bunny.

Why do people call their kids rabbits?

Hundreds of years ago, rabbits were called "coneys" (pronounced with a soft o, as in "honey"), and baby coneys were called "rabbits." Over time, the word coney was phased out, and the word rabbit came to be used for the adults; baby rabbits are now called "kittens" (or "kits"). The current nickname for rabbits, "bunnies," derives from their original name. Some languages still use the original name (e.g. the Spanish word for "rabbit" is "conejo"; the Dutch, "konijn"). Some species have the word "rabbit" in their name, like the jack rabbit, when they're not actually rabbits: e.g. jack rabbits are hares. Hares and rabbits are closely related, though (both lagomorphs). It's a common misconception that "bunny" means a baby rabbit. Baby rabbits are called "kits." The word "bunny" is just a nickname for "rabbits." More Answers: Rabbits has a scientific name "Lagomorph" which means long ears, big feet, and continually growing teeth. So a man named a rabbit a rabbit for all its appearances. A rabbit is called a rabbit because it is the adult form of a bunny. That's incorrect - a common misconception!

How soon after a rabbit eats something unhealthy for him would he get sick?

It usually doesn't take really long , but if the rabbit seems OK, it is probably because it is immune to the food that it is eating if the item is poisonous or toxic . If the item is fattening it does take some time for about 24 hours to about 4 days if it eats too much.

Your dwarf rabbit is 9 weeks old and is eating his own rabbit droppings?

Rabbits and dogs sometimes eat their poo because they can still smell nutrients in it that we cant. We say "ewe" but it isnt bad for them. So it is OK if it eats its poo.

Can you over hold a bunny?

Most Rabbits do not like to be held, its ok to hold your rabbit but do not treat it like a new born baby. let is hop around and be free, this way your rabbit is happy(:When you let your rabbit go make sure there are no other pets around that could hurt your bunny like a dog or cat, also it may be best if you have a empty room to let them go in with the door closed so they don't get hurt. Before letting your bunny go make sure there are no wires or electrical/ important things your rabbit could chew on. I would also make sure that if my rabbit pees on the floor it won't be to hard to clean up. Hope this helped some!(:
