I do not see anything wrong with that-unless he/she is underage or something. If you get caught, you MIGHT be in trouble legally or in some way. It depends on the scenario, but to be honest, no. This would be a relationship that personally I wouldn't pursue due to getting fired and/or charged. It seems kind of risky If the player is underage. Legally, a coach having any sort of sexual relationship with one of their players/competitors is going to be an issue. If they are under 18, there could be criminal charges in some states because of the coach status.
No, it is not okay to date someone but like one of their friends
While it may be legally permissible for a coach to date a player over 18, it raises significant ethical concerns. Such relationships can create power imbalances and potential conflicts of interest, affecting team dynamics and the coach's ability to remain impartial. Many organizations and schools have policies against such relationships to protect both parties and maintain a professional environment. Ultimately, transparency and adherence to relevant guidelines are crucial in these situations.

In their history in Tennessee the Titans franchise has to date had only one head coach - Jeff Fisher. From the franchise's beginning as the Houston Oilers the first head coach was Lou Rymkus.
It all depends on the league and the rules. Some leagues it doesn't matter, but honestly, it is better to pick one. How can a coach focus on their players if they themselves are playing?
