Yes I think that its fine on online although on modern warfare2 campaign there is a slightly disturbing level but you can choose to leave it out as it gives you an option.

It shouldn't be but a lot of other children around those ages play. I am currently 15 and started playing call of duty when i was 7. I turned out fine but if you find that once call of duty is overcoming your child's life style such as sports and school than stop him immediately.
