Nope - the snake wouldn't attempt to eat something that wasn't its natural diet.
A snake will not normally feed during their shedding period, mainly because as it prepares for the shed, the lens cap, otherwise known as the 'Brill' clouds the snakes vision making it feel vulnerable. It is okay not to offer your snake food during sloughing, but ok if you do, (not live of course), if they want it, they'll take it.

Some people say it's okay but I did it once and the frog killed the betta.
You can find their tail and gently pull away, outwards from your body part. They are strong but they have no leverage if you pull away. They also will move if you play with their tail. I find that that annoys them.If you are not hurt by the snake, it is perfectly okay to let them wrap around you.
