I do on a daily basis as directed by my doctor. I take them at night cuz they make me sleepy. I've not had any side effects or any reactions. I'm not a medical doctor & you should always check with your doctor before mixing medications in advance. - Jwseizure

∙ 10y agoYes. You can take them together. But you can have added sedation. In status epilepticus condition, injection of both of the above drugs has to be given. At times very large dose of diazepam (Valium) has to be given intravenously with quite high dose of phenytoin (Dilantin).
