Pixel shader is a type of graphics technology which is built into some video cards. While it is possible to emulate pixel shader technology with programs like swiftshader or 3danalyze, these programs simply shuffle the workload onto your CPU and unless you have a hugely powerful system with loads and loads of RAM (unlikely since youre using a 5+ year old video card) you are not likely to wind up with a playable game by using this workaround. Furthermore, these programs accomplish pixel shader emulation by altering drivers and other key OS files and using them may lead to system instability.
Long story short, if you need pixel shader technology and your computer system does not currently have it, you need to replace your video card with one which has native support for pixel shader.
Almost all current video cards have pixel shader built in. Even the most inexpensive cards on the market have this technology, and upgrading your video card will probably give you improved performance in other applications as well.
yes, but it isn't wise to do so. you could use third party software to emulate pixel shader 2.0 but it is usually a sure way to cause instability in your computer, i highly so not recommend it. you could try to do without but chances are it wont work or you'll have very poor quality; your best option is to go for gold and have your graphics card upgraded.
however if you wish to emulate some software names include things such as "3DAnalyze" and "Swiftshader 2.0" good luck
No sadly it's not. my cousin and I tried hard to play Sims 3, we've been told that we need to spend 50 to 500 dollars to attempt to play it with out the dumb pixel shader 2.0 -.-. good luck spending all your money.
you must have graphics card that supports shader model
It supports Shader Model 3.0.
It supports pixel shader 4.1
No this only supports Pixel Shader 3.0
It supports shader model 4.1
yes
Yes, SwiftShader gives you Shader Model 3.0 support regardless of what your graphics hardware supports.
No it doesn't. Ati Radeon 9550 supports pixel shader 2.0
NO, 5200FX only support Pixel and Vertex Shader 2.0 (first GPU to feature it by the way)
Yes, the Intel GMA 3100 supports up to Pixel Shader Model 2.0
Riot reccomends a DirectX 9.0 capable video card that supports Shader 2.0
