No. The National Organic Program guidelines prohibit use of GMO seeds for crops labeled "organic". GMO crops can't be sold as organic produce.

However, if a crop is grown without synthetic fertilizers, pesticides, fungicides, or herbicides, it's "organic", it just can't be labeled or sold as organic.

No, it is not possible for GMO varieties to be used to produce organic foods. True organic foods are free of GMOs. Also, many GMO varieties are developed either to withstand higher levels of chemical pesticides and/or herbicides or, as I understand it, to produce levels of herbicides and/or insecticides themselves, making them unsuitable for organic production.

What effect does pollen from genetically modified plants have on organically grown plants when they are cross pollinated?

When organic crops are pollinated with GMO crops, the GMO gene can become a part of the organic crop, so the organic seed for the following year contains the GMO. Technically, since organic crops are not supposed to have GMOs in them, this contaminates the organic crops.

What can organic farming be used even more for in the future?

Organic farming can be used for any crop that can be grown in the future. Since no synthetic fertilizers or pesticides are used in organic farming, if the soil is not suitable it would need to have organic matter and/or compost added, as well as other organic enhancements possibly. Also, organic methods of controlling insects and weeds would need to be used, but growing organically is not limited to any certain area.
