Is it possible for a human being to defeat the devil?

Here is what The Bible has to say in the way we can defeat the devil.

James 4: 7, 8 reads. " Therefore, subject yourselves to God; but oppose the devil, and he will flee from you. Draw close to God, and he will draw close to you. cleanse your hearts ......

Jesus' example found in Matthew 4: 10 which reads. " Jesus said to him. " Go away Satan ! For it is written: It is Jehovah your God you must worship, and is to him alone you must render sacred service".

Nevertheless !1 John 5: 19 reminds us that the whole world is lying in the power of the wicked one. And Revelation 12. 9 describes the wicked one as the original serpent, the one called Devil and Satan, who is misleading the entire inhabited earth.

So it is quite clear that Satan has begun his career as a liar right from the beginning of mankind and has not given up to this day.

So to answer your question, which is : " Is it possible for a human to defeat the devil? The answer is YES, with the knowledge and the help of God.

2Timothy 3: 16,17 reminds us that: "All scripture is inspired of God and beneficial for teaching, for reproving, for setting things straight, for disciplining in righteousness, so that the man/woman of God may be fully competent, completely equipped for every good work". So we are not left without help to defeat the devil.

John 17: 3 reads. " This means everlasting life , their coming to know you, the only true God, and the one whom you sent, Jesus Christ. Knowing God is lifesaving.

Psalm 37: 29 promised that only the righteous ones will possess the earth, and will live forever on it, which was God's purpose for mankind. Read Genesis 2: 15-17.

Unfortunately Adam did not defeat the devil, read Genesis chapter 3, which is mankind's history. And he brought great pain on humankind, confirmed in Romans 5: 12. But Jesus did defeat the Devil, which is the example for us to follow.
